Carrots! Hooray, Carrots!

Ash is enjoying solids more now. Still not eating more than a few teaspoons at a sitting, but he's starting to think its fun (as you can see).

What's funny is that he much prefers to try to feed himself. With the little green utensil you see below, he can do a pretty good job by himself moving the food toward -- and sometimes even into -- his mouth.

Certainly not getting a huge amount of his nutrition from it yet, but it seems like he's having a good time learning....

6 Months Old

As of the 20th, Ash is officially 6 months old!

Happy half-birthday, kiddo!

O Christmas Tree

We went shopping for a tree a few weeks ago:

Dad with the final selection

Ash with the final selection.

[Note they tie it through the doors rather than through the windows. Guy told us if you tie it through the windows, then you can't then open the doors. Of course he's right. But, I wouldn't have thought of it. Clever. Or maybe not clever. Maybe they just tied some poor sap's doors shut a half hour before I got there and learned a lesson. Anyway, a tangent, a tangent.....]

Ash with the decorated version!

Very fun

Solids

We started trying some solid foods with Ash last week. He was eager to give it a go

And willing to try a bite or two

But didn't really think sweet potato was his favorite

So we tried prunes -- a little more positive response, but still not very interested

Overall, I thought this picture really captured his mood regarding solid foods.

Oh well, we'll keep trying.

Snow!

We got our first few inches of snow last week

Mommy bundled Asher up and got him outside for a few minutes.

Isn't the hat great?

Ash thought so for a while, but then . . .

The dog has limited patience for the snow too. . . .

The real story here, by the way, is mom's dexterity. Dad at work, Ash in one hand, camera in the other, Poobah down around the feet, and mom still managed clear photos. Even artistic. Remarkable!

And the aftermath........

Notice . . .

Notice that he's awake. He's always awake. Sleep is for the weak. Or the bored. Something. Anyway, he gives mom a couple of hours at night. Consecutive is optional. A few naps during the day, no more than 45 minutes.

He's tired, we're tired, but he's not sleepy. Ugh.

Baby It's Cold!

Don't you love Ash's cold weather "bunting"? Its amazingly warm. I'm searching for a matching outfit in 6'3'' size, but am having difficulties....
