Ash had an ear infection, but he still managed smiles most of the time . . . most, not all.

Happy Birthday Buglet!
Ash turned one on Friday! Hooray! He hosted a wonderful party on Saturday. (I've only got a few pictures on my camera, so any guests with pictures are urged to e-mail 'em in: erikindy@gmail.com)
Of course, he got his first cake there. He was quite tentative with it at first....

But, like any good kid with sugar, he started to get the hang of it

Pretty soon the attack was on (and a bath almost necessary)
He had enough time to share with grandma F, though. That was kind. (Ash: Want to try my slobbery cake, grandma?? ummmm)
And finally the classic "first cake" photo. I think its actually considered child abuse not to get a pic of your kid with face and hands coated staring blankly off, wondering where cake has been for the last 365 days.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIDDO!
(Seriously, guests, I need more pictures. Send them. Thanks!)

Walk in the Woods
Ash took his first hike the other day -- a big hit.
Okay, its a bit of an exaggeration to say it was a hike -- fairly easy trails in a nearby forest preserve. Basically just a walk in the woods. But very pleasant.

Also a bit of an exaggeration to say ASH got a walk in the woods. I walked. Mom walked. He was schlepped around in an ergo. But that's as close as he gets. And he enjoyed it.

For fun, a random shot of mom looking outdoorsy and cute.
