Ash likes to play harmonica now, very cute. CLICK HERE for video evidence. Awesome.....

He looks like a boy -- rather than baby -- now, doesn't he? Amazing.

Ash walks everywhere now. No more crawling. He's eating better -- some breakfast, some lunch, some dinner. Some days better than others. In the past month he's gone through chicken pox and toncilitis.... fun. Still obsessed with dogs, getting obsessed with airplanes. Sleep? Meh, once in a while.
He's a fun kid. Intelligent, interested and curious. I'll get more pics up soon, I hope.

Ash playing on a new toy -- fun stuff!
Grandma F gets an adoring look:
A good shot of the guests' cake
Ash had an ear infection, but he still managed smiles most of the time . . . most, not all.

Pretty soon the attack was on (and a bath almost necessary)
He had enough time to share with grandma F, though. That was kind. (Ash: Want to try my slobbery cake, grandma?? ummmm)
And finally the classic "first cake" photo. I think its actually considered child abuse not to get a pic of your kid with face and hands coated staring blankly off, wondering where cake has been for the last 365 days.....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KIDDO!
(Seriously, guests, I need more pictures. Send them. Thanks!)
Okay, its a bit of an exaggeration to say it was a hike -- fairly easy trails in a nearby forest preserve. Basically just a walk in the woods. But very pleasant.
For fun, a random shot of mom looking outdoorsy and cute.
The breakthrough came at the Art Fair on Saturday, when he saw our friends' girls playing in the grass. Suddenly he decided that "all the cool kids are doing it," I guess.
These shots were taken Sunday at Grandma & Grandpa F's house.
