Happy Thanksgiving!

These are from Thanksgiving day, right before we headed over to Grandma & Grandpa F's house for dinner.

And no, those clothes aren't itchy. They look itchy, but they're soft. I checked.

New Trick -- Tripod

He's obviously not sitting up on his own yet, but he's figured out how to "tripod" and sit up by supporting himself on his arms . . .


He's been working on this for few weeks, and he's getting quite good at it.

He looks almost a bit smug at the new skill:


But, we still have to do it on something soft (here, our bed). Because when he crashes, it is quick and spectacular . . .

Charts? What Charts?

As of today, Asher is 4.5 months old, 29 inches long, and 21 pounds.

On the pictures below, Asher's weight and height are marked with the red "X"s. As you can see, that means he is officially off-the-charts big.

Boy + Dog

Ash and Poobah continue to feel out their new relationship. Ash now notices Poobah and is totally intrigued by him. If Poobah's carrying a toy around, that's hilarious. If Poobah shakes, amazing. Barking? Wow......

Poobah, on the other hand, has had maybe enough of the baby. He's not mad, really, just vaguely depressed. He's learning that when the baby whimpers in the middle of the night he gets attention. Poobah gets scolded. Its tough to be a dog.

Anyway, it'll be fun to see how it all plays out between them. Meanwhile, if we can just keep Poobah off Asher's blanket.........

High Chair Highlights

We got the high chair last weekend:


He's now much more comfortable; the bouncy seat was just too small, and he enjoys sitting up at the table with us.


In fact -- very cute -- he's started mimicking chewing motions with his mouth while we're eating. He's still a month (give or take) away from starting any solids, but he seems to be looking forward to it!
